MALFUNCTION TEST OR INSPECTION CORRECTIVE ACTION 1. HEATER DOES NOT START WITH RUN-OFF-START SWITCH HELD IN START POSITION. HEATER MOTOR RUNS. 1. Check to see if fuel tanks manual shutoff valves are closed. Open fuel tanks manual shutoff valves (WP 0004 00). 2. HEATER DOES NOT START WITH RUN-OFF-START SWITCH HELD IN START POSITION. HEATER MOTOR DOES NOT RUN. 1. Push PRESS-TO-TEST switch on engine coolant heater control box to test for electrical power. If light does not work, check for loose electrical connections at control box and heater. Tighten loose connections. 2. Check to see if battery connections are tight. Notify unit maintenance to tighten loose battery connections. 3. COOLANT HEATER OVERHEATS. 1. Check to see if one or both coolant shutoff valves are closed. Open coolant shutoff valves (WP 0062 00). 4. COOLANT HEATER OUTPUT IS TOO LOW. 1. Check to see if the HI-LO switch is in LO position. Move HI-LO switch to HI position (WP 0062 00). 5. BATTERIES OVERHEAT. 1. Check if air temperature is too warm to need the engine coolant heater Turn off engine coolant heater (WP 0062 00). You do not need to use engine coolant heater if temperature is above –25 F (-32 C). 2. Check if engine is running at the same time as the engine coolant heater. Turn off engine coolant heater (WP 0062 00) as soon as the engine starts. 0089 00-19/20 blank Change 3
