Examine for dented surfaces or holes, torn insulation, severed cables, or other evidence of damage. This might indicate the source of trouble and the need for repairs. Also check component boxes for unusual odors. After obvious damage has been repaired, attempt to operate the communications system to check for damage that might not be so obvious.
