REPLACE ALARM KIT MOUNTING BRACKETS (M113A2 ONLY) — Continued INSTALLATION WARNING Adhesive, primer, sealant compounds, and isopropyl alcohol are toxic and flammable. These compounds are toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Continued exposure can make you dizzy and irritate your eyes and throat. Always use in well ventilated areas, away from heat, sparks, and flames. Do not breathe fumes. Do not allow into contact with skin and eyes. Use goggles or face shield and protective gloves. 1. Apply a thin coat of adhesive to mating surfaces of bracket (1) and new pad (2). Allow 10-20 minutes drying time. Press surfaces together firmly. 2. Secure bracket (3) to top of carrier with four screws (4) and washers (5). TIGHTEN SCREWS TO 264-284 LB-IN (30-32 N·M) TORQUE. Use torque wrench. 3. Install harness connector (20) on bracket (3). Secure with four screws (21) and nuts (22). 4. Install detector unit in bracket (3). See TM 3-6665-225-12. 5. Install strap (6) on bracket (7). Install strap (8) on bracket (1). 6. Secure bracket (1) to hull top with four screws (9) and washers (10). TIGHTEN SCREWS TO 264-284 LB-IN (30-32–N·M) TORQUE. Use torque wrench. 7. Install battery in bracket (1). Secure with strap (8). See TM 3-6665-225-12. 8. Secure refill bracket (7) to battery box cover (11) with two screws (12), washers (13), and new locknuts (14). 9. Install refill unit in bracket (7). Secure with strap (6). See TM 3-6665-225-12. 10. Install alarm unit bracket (15) on bulkhead. Secure with two screws (16) and new lockwashers (17). 11.
