INITIAL SETUP: M a i n t e n a n c e L e v e l Unit T o o l s a n d S p e c i a l T o o l s General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (WP 0780 00, Item 29) M a t e r i a l s / P a r t s Filter element gasket Lockwasher (2) P e r s o n n e l R e q u i r e d Unit Mechanic E q u i p m e n t C o n d i t i o n Engine stopped (see your -10) Carrier blocked (see your -10) Battery ground lead disconnected (WP 0294 00) REMOVAL NOTE T here are two f uel f ilter/w ater separators. O n e i s located on the l eft side of t he carrier and the other on the right. Both are removed and installed the same way. Only one is shown. Plug fuel hoses after removing to prevent leakage. 1. Remove fuel hose (1) from inlet tube adapter (2) on fuel filter/water separator (3). 2. Remove fuel hose (4) from outlet tube adapter (5) on fuel filter/water separator (3). 3. Remove two screws (6), nuts (7), washers (8), lockwashers (9), and fuel filter/water separator (3) from armor shield (10). Discard lockwashers. 0715 00-1
