INITIAL SETUP: M a i n t e n a n c e L e v e l Unit T o o l s a n d S p e c i a l T o o l s General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (WP 0780 00, Item 29) Socket Wrench Adapter (WP 0780 00, Item 5) M a t e r i a l s / P a r t s Antiseize compound (WP 0782 00, Item 8) P e r s o n n e l R e q u i r e d Unit Mechanic E q u i p m e n t C o n d i t i o n Engine stopped (see your -10) Carrier blocked (see your -10) Rear floor plates removed (WP 0436 00) REMOVAL C A U T I O N Carrier should not be operated with hull drain plug or poppet valve removed. This reduces air flow through radiator and draws dirt and debris into power plant compartment, and water into carrier. NOTE Three poppet valves and two drain plugs are installed on bottom of hull. 1. Loosen three screws (1) and remove poppet valves (2) from hull. 2. Remove two drain plugs (3) from hull. Use socket wrench adapter. 0435 00-1
