INITIAL SETUP: M a i n t e n a n c e L e v e l Unit T o o l s a n d S p e c i a l T o o l s General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (WP 0780 00, Item 29) M a t e r i a l s / P a r t s Grease (WP 0782 00, Item 24) Locknut (4) Locknut P e r s o n n e l R e q u i r e d Unit Mechanic E q u i p m e n t C o n d i t i o n Engine stopped (see your -10) Carrier blocked (see your -10) Commander’s hatch interior latch removed (WP 0460 00) REMOVAL WARNING Driver’s hatch cover may spring up and injure you. Open and support hatch cover in vertical position. 1. Remove four locknuts (1), screws (2), and two retaining plates (3) from hatch brackets. Discard locknuts. 2. Support hatch cover (4). Remove 28 springs (5), two tubes (6), spacers (7), and cover (4) from hatch brackets. 3. Remove locknut (8) and screw (9) from cover (4). Discard locknut. 4. If necessary, pry up end of seal (10) and remove from cover (4). 0461 00-1
