TM 9-2350-261-20-2 REPLACE STEERING LEVERS CROSS-SHAFTS AND BEARINGS — Continued 0390 00 INSTALLATION NOTE If arm bearing (1) is to be replaced, use shim (2) as a template to locate and drill two .250-.252 inch (6 mm) holes in base of new bearing before installation. If there is no shim, make template from old bearing. 1. Assemble cross-shaft (3), cross-shaft (4), arm bearing (1), lube fittings (5), and two thrust washers (6) as a unit. Install through power plant compartment bulkhead opening. 2. Place shim (2) and bearing (1) on bracket (7). Secure with two new tapered pins (8), new locknuts (9), washers (10), and screws (11). 3. Install two clevises (12) on cross-shaft (3) and cross-shaft (4). Secure with two clevis pins (13), washers (14) and new cotter pins (15). 4. Install new gasket (16), cover (17), and cover (18) on five press nuts (19) in power plant compartment bulkhead. Secure with five new locknuts (20), screws (21), and washers (22). 5. Install bearing (23) in bracket (24). Secure with two retaining rings (25). Use snap ring pliers. 6. Install two quadrants (26) and stops (27) on bracket (24). Secure with two screws (28) and new locknuts (29). 0390 00-4
