TM 9-2350-261-20-2 REPLACE BATTERIES AND RETAINERS (M1064 ONLY) — Continued 0303 00 CLEAN AND INSPECT WARNING Battery posts and cables touched by metal objects can short circuit and burn you. Do not wear jewelry, necklaces, or watches when working on the electrical system. Keep tools away from posts, wires, and terminals. 1. Clean battery with nonmetallic brush dipped in mixture of sodium bicarbonate and water. After foaming stops, flush battery with clean water. Dry with clean cloth. 2. Clean retainers and parts by soaking in mixture of sodium bicarbonate and water. Dry parts and apply epoxy coating. 3. See TM 9-6140-200-14 to service batteries. INSTALLATION WARNING Battery is heavy and can cause back injury if handled improperly. Be sure to have helper assist to install battery. Battery weighs about 75 lb (34 kg). 0303 00-3
