INTERVAL MAN- HOUR ITEM TO BE CHECKED OR SERVICED CREWMEMBER PROCEDURE EQUIPMENT NOT READY/ AVAILABLE IF: 70 Semi-annual Transfer Gearcase a. Replace missing or damaged retaining clip and mounting pin on transfer gearcase (WP 0342 00). Any missing, cracked, broken hardware or Class III leaks. b. TIGHTEN MOUNTING NUT TO 75-80 LB-FT (102-108 N·M) TORQUE. Use torque wrench (WP 0780 00, Item 104) and adapter (WP 0780 00, Item 4). c. LOOSEN AND RE-TORQUE 10 TRANSFER GEARCASE-TO- TRANSMISSION BOLTS TO 252-300 LB-IN (28-34 N·M) TORQUE. Use torque wrench (WP 0780 00, Item 102) and socket set (WP 0780 00, Item 96). d. Drain transfer gearcase every 150 hours, 1500 miles, or semi-annually. Remove the hull drain plug and gearcase plug. e. Inspect oil for metallic particles. If metal chips are found, notify your supervisor. 0120 00-86
