Always lock the parking brake and block the road wheels before working on the carrier. C A U T I O N Stall check damages the carrier’s transmission. Always check the carrier with a road test unless conditions absolutely prevent it. a. Immediately after road test, cautiously feel all wheel and idler hub for noticeable difference in temperature between hubs. An overheated hubs indicates that bearing is out of adjustment, poorly lubricated, or unserviceable. Any Class III leaks or cold shocks. b. Check temperature of shock absorbers. They should feel warm. A cold shock has failed. c. Visually check inside, outside, and underneath carrier for fuel, oil, or hydraulic leaks. 0120 00-22
