In this position, the indicator reading does not have to be calculated and it may be read direct. b) The other position is to have the center line of the adapter in line with the center line of the torque wrench. In this case, the adapter adds to the overall length of the torque wrench and makes the dial or scale reading less than the actual torque applied to the nut or screw. To prevent overtorquing and damage to equipment, you must calculate a corrected dial or scale reading. 0120 00-5
