TM 9-2350-261-20-1 STE/ICE-R STARTER CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING — Continued 0101 00 C5Y 1. Move red clip of test probe cable W2 to ground terminal of starter. 2. Crank engine and read displayed voltage. 3. Is voltage drop less than 18 volts? C5YN 1. Clean, inspect, and repair cables as needed. 2. Verify no faults found. C6Y 1. Replace starter (WP 0236 00). 2. Verify no faults found. DY 1. Move red clip of test probe cable W2 to positive terminal of starter solenoid. 2. Crank engine and read displayed voltage. 3. Is solenoid voltage above 18 volts? DYN GO TO EY (PAGE 0101 00-5) D2Y 1. NOTE Voltage drop across a connection should be less than 0.1 volt and a voltage drop across a cable should be less than 0.2 volts. Check voltage drop across solenoid and all cables/connections in positive side of starter circuit. 2. If GO message occurred during starter circuit resistance test, check switches and wiring to solenoid. 3. Set test select switches to 89. 4. Connect clip leads of test probe W2 across part to be measured. 5. Press and release test button. 6. Engage starter. 7. Repair part if voltage drop is high. 8. If switches and wiring to solenoid are ok, replace solenoid and starter (WP 0236 00). 9. Verify no faults found. 0101 00-4
