TM 9-2350-261-20-1 200 AMP CHARGE/REGULATION TROUBLESHOOTING — Continued 0021 00 3Y C A U T I O N If voltage climbs above 33 or more volts, shut off engine. Alternator could be damaged. 1. Check batteries to make sure they are fully charged. See TM 9-6140-200-14. 2. Turn off all electrical equipment/loads. 3. Adjust rheostat to maximum resistance. 4. Connect diagnostic test harness leads 1 and 4 together. 5. Start engine and run at 800 RPM and lower resistance. 6. Does voltage rise above battery voltage (test harness lead 3 to ground) to approximately 28 volts? 3YN 1. Remove alternator test kit (WP 0019 00). 2. Replace generator (200 amp) (WP 0228 00). 3. Repeat charging system operational check (WP 0020 00). 4Y 1. Remove alternator test kit (WP 0019 00). 2. Replace voltage regulator (200 amp generator) (WP 0230 00). 3. Repeat charging system operational check (WP 0020 00). 0021 00-2
