TM 9-2350-247-20-3 REPLACE VEHICLE COMPARTMENT HEATER EXHAUST GUARD (M548A1) — Continued 0455 00 INSTALLATION NOTE Be sure to install bracket clamp (2) and bracket clamp (6) so that guard brackets are attached above top clamp and below bottom clamp. Bracket clamp screws (7) should show through holes in exhaust guard. 1. Install U-bolt (1) and bracket clamp (2) with two new lock nuts (3) and washers (4) to upper exhaust pipe (5) just above 5 1/2 inch (13.97 cm) mark. 2. Assemble two bracket clamps (6) with two cap screws (7), new lock nuts (8), and four washers (9) to upper exhaust pipe (5) just above 25 inch (63.5 cm) mark. 3. Install three guard brackets (10) with six screws (11) and washers (12). Do not tighten screws. 4. Slide exhaust guard (13) onto exhaust pipe (5) from bottom of exhaust pipe. 5. Install 6 screws (14), 12 washers (15), and 6 new lock nuts (16). 6. Secure upper exhaust pipe (5) with clamp (17). 0455 00-4
