TM 9-2350-247-20-3 INSPECT POWER PLANT SLING — Continued 0443 00 3. Check chains (3) for following: a. If any link (4) is bent or twisted, remove sling from service. b. If any link (4) has a sharp transverse nick or gouge, remove sling from service. c. If any link (4) is modified, homemade, or length of chain is altered, remove sling from service. NOTE Hooks should be free of paint. Paint covers up cracks. Remove all paint from hooks. 4. Inspect hooks (5) for following: a. If any cracks are found on hooks (5), remove sling from service. b. If throat opening (6) exceeds 1 7/64 inch (28 mm), remove sling from service. c. If twisting exceeds 10 from centerline, remove sling from service. d. Inspect safety closure latch (7). If any latch is damaged, remove sling from service. 0443 00-4
