If identification tag attached to chain leg does not contain “reach” dimensions, then dimension “L” must be calibrated prior to use for each chain leg and entered into maintenance record. At each inspection, chain length must be compared with initial inspection. b. If length (L) between bearing point of hook (1) and bearing point of coupling link (2) while under light load is greater than the maximum in Table I, remove sling from service. 0443 00-2
