TM 9-2350-247-20-3 REPLACE DRUM LOCK HANDLE (M548A1) — Continued 0411 00 INSTALLATION 1. Place drum lock handle (1) over poppet shaft (2) and under bracket (3). Install pin (4), spring (5), washer (6), and new cotter pin (7). 2. Place washer (8) and nut (9) on poppet shaft (2). Do not tighten nut. 3. Move clutch lever (10) as far to right as it will go. Make sure detent pin in lever is seated in DISENGAGED slot of bracket (3). 4. Unlock drum (see your -10). Turn winch drum by hand until poppet shaft (2) is seated in drum flange. ADJUSTMENT 1. Hold nut (9) and install jam nut (11). Adjust nut (9) and nut (11) so that poppet shaft (2) is withdrawn 5/16 ± 1/16 inch (7.6 ± 1.6 mm) from maximum inward travel when detent pin in lever is seated in hole on bracket. FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Connect battery negative lead (WP 0292 00). END OF TASK 0411 00-2
