TM 9-2350-247-20-3 REPLACE TAILGATE CONTROLS — Continued 0404 00 INSTALLATION 1. Place striker plate (1) on tailgate (2). Secure with two screws (3). NOTE To keep tip of latch (6) from pulling through bracket when spring (4) is fully compressed, install washers (5), as needed, behind spring. 2. Install spring (4), washer (5), and handle latch (6) in bracket (7). Secure spring and washer to bracket with new grooved pin (8). 3. Install seal (9), if replaced, and handle eye bolt (10) in hull. Secure with washer (11) and nut (12). 4. Place tailgate handle (13) and two connecting links (14) on handle eye bolt (10). Secure links to handle and eye bolt with six washers (15), two link pins (16), and new cotter pins (17). 0404 00-3
