TM 9-2350-247-20-3 REPLACE TAILGATE CONTROLS — Continued 0404 00 REMOVAL NOTE Right and left tailgate controls are adjusted, removed, and installed the same way. 1. Remove two cotter pins (1), link pins (2), and six washers (3) that secure two connecting links (4) to tailgate handle (5) and handle eye bolt (6). Remove links and handle. Discard cotter pins. 2. Remove nut (7) and washer (8) that secure handle eye bolt (6) to hull. Remove eye bolt and seal (9). Check seal. Replace seal if necessary. 3. Remove grooved pin (10) that secures washer (11) and spring (12) to handle latch (13). Remove latch, washer, and spring from bracket (14). Discard grooved pin. 4. Remove two screws (15). Remove striker plate (16) from tailgate (17). 0404 00-2
