TM 9-2350-247-20-3 REPLACE M13 DECONTAMINATION BRUSH GUARD AND BACKING PLATE — Continued 0401 00 CLEANING 1. Use a wire brush to remove any corrosion and sealing compound around mounting holes. 2. Apply sealing compound around mounting holes before installing guard (1). 3. Inspect backing plate (2) for damaged or stripped press nuts (3). Replace as required. 4. Inspect cords (4) for damage. Remove spring pins (5) and elastic cords (4) from guard (1) as required. 5. Inspect upper pad (6) and lower pad (7) for damage. To replace pads, clean mounting surface and apply adhesive as required. INSTALLATION 1. (H) Install backing plate (2) against inside of carrier hull. 2. Install guard (1) against front of carrier. Have helper assist. 3. Secure backing plate (2) and guard (1) on carrier with 10 screws (8) and washers (9). Have helper assist. 4. Torque screws (8) to 36-38 lb-ft (51-52 N•m). FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Install M13 portable decontamination unit (TM 3-4230-214-12&P). END OF TASK 0401 00-3/4 blank
