TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE PIVOT STEERING BRAKE CONTROLS/LINKAGE (M548A1) — Continued 0369 00 INSTALLATION NOTE Assembly of pivot steering assembly may be done on a work bench. Right and left sides of pivot steering assembly are identical. Only right hand side is shown. 1. Assemble pivot steering assembly as follows: a. Install four sleeve bearings (1) in right and left outer shaft levers (2) if replacement is needed. b. Install four sleeve bearings (3) in right and left arms (4) if replacement is needed. c. Install two outer shaft levers (2) on pivot steering support (5) with cross shaft (6) and two new cotter pins (7). d. Install outer cross shaft (8) on pivot steering support (5) with two screws (9) securing outer cross shaft. Install new lock wire (10) in screws. e. Install two rod end bearings (11) and jam nuts (12) on two connecting links (13). f. Install two connecting links (13) on right and left arms (4). Secure connecting links to two arms with two clevis pins (14) and new cotter pins (15). g. Install two screws (16), washers (17), and new lock nuts (18) to secure two connecting links (13) to two outer shaft levers (2). h. Install two springs (19) on pivot steering support (5) and two connecting links (13). 0369 00-6
