TM 9-2350-247-20-2 ADJUST STEERING WHEEL LINKAGE (M548A3) — Continued 0362 00 6. Remove screw (1), washer (2), locknut (3), and rod end bearing (4) from steering lever (5). 7. Loosen nut (6) on rod end bearing (4) and connecting link (7). 8. Center steering wheel (8) and lock steering wheel in position with steering wheel lock pin (9). NOTE Do not push or pull connecting links when adjusting linkage. 9. Place rod end bearing (4) on steering lever (5). Adjust rod end bearing until screw (1) fits freely into steering lever. 10. Secure rod end bearing (4) to steering lever (5) with screw (1), washer (2), and new locknut (3). 11. Tighten nut (6) against connecting link (7). 12. Release steering wheel lock pin (9). Check linkage for binding. Steering wheel (8) should rotate about the same distance in both directions. 13. Install bracket (10) on hull. Secure with four screws (11), washers (12), and new lock washers (13). FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Install center driver’s floor plate (WP 0395 00). 2. Install driver’s side front battery (WP 0293 00).
