INITIAL SETUP: M a i n t e n a n c e L e v e l Unit T o o l s a n d S p e c i a l T o o l s General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (WP 0541 00, Item 57) Splined Socket (WP 0541 00, Item 48) Torque Wrench (WP 0541 00, Item 68) P e r s o n n e l R e q u i r e d Unit Mechanic Helper (H) R e f e r e n c e s See your -10 E q u i p m e n t C o n d i t i o n Engine stopped (see your -10) Carrier blocked (see your -10) Center seat raised (see your -10) Left center floor plate removed (WP 0395 00) INSPECTION OF INSTALLED ITEMS 1. Release parking brake. Start engine and allow to warm up. (see your -10) 2. Apply brakes. Have helper watch movement of right (1) and left (2) brake shaft indicators as brakes are applied. Note position of indicators. Release the brake pedal. 3. Stop engine (see your -10). Apply parking brake. Note position of indicator (1) and indicator (2). 4. If indicator (1) and indicator (2) go to or past the READJUST mark (3), adjust transmission brakes (WP 0314 00). 5. If indicator stops before the APPLY mark (4), carrier linkage may be binding or out of adjustment, or transmission brakes may be adjusted too tight. Check transmission brakes with torque wrench and splined socket. 0313 00-1
