TM 9-2350-247-20-2 ADJUST TRANSMISSION STEERING (M548A3) — Continued 0312 00 3. Watch both tracks. If there is no track tension, adjustment is correct. WARNING If steering wheel is turned while engine is running at 1000 rpm or greater, the carrier will pivot and personnel could be killed or equipment damaged. 4. (H) Place transmission controller in PV position. 5. (H) Turn steering wheel left and right at idle speed. 6. Watch both tracks. There will be some change in track tension, but carrier will not move. 7. (H) Place transmission controller in SL position. 8. (H) With steering wheel in center position, increase engine speed to 1000 rpm. 9. Watch both tracks. There must be no change in track tension or transmission sound. WARNING If steering wheel is turned while engine is running at 1000 rpm or greater, the carrier will pivot and personnel could be killed or equipment damaged. 10. (H) Slowly increase engine speed to 2800 rpm. 11. Watch both tracks. There must be no change in track tension or transmission sound. 0312 00-2
