TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE BATTERIES AND BATTERY COMPARTMENT (M548A1) — Continued 0290 00 WARNING Ventilate battery compartment before you connect or remove battery cables. Always disconnect or connect negative lead first. Don’t cause sparks. Hydrogen explosions can cause serious injury. Do not wear jewelry. It can get caught, cause electrical burns, or may cause electrocution. 5. Connect battery jumper lead (18) to battery (9) positive post and battery (10) negative post. Tighten two nuts (19) to secure lead. 6. Connect circuit 2 lead (20) and circuit lead (21) to battery (10) positive post. Tighten nut (22) to secure leads. 7. Connect circuit 7 lead (23) to battery (9) negative post. Tighten nut (24) to secure lead. FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Lower driver’s seat (see your -10). 2. Turn MASTER SWITCH ON to check that battery is installed correctly. Master switch light should come on (see your -10). 3. Start engine (see your -10). 4. Stop engine (see your -10).
