TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE STARTER (M548A3) — Continued 0254 00 REMOVAL WARNING Avoid injury. Get an assistant to help you lift the starter or use a hoist. Starter weighs about 75 lb (34 kg). NOTE Mark all leads before removal to assure correct installation. 1. Remove nut (1), lock washer (2), circuit 6 lead (3), and circuit 74C lead (4) from battery terminal (5) on starter solenoid (6). Discard lock washer. 2. Remove nut (7), lock washer (8), and circuit 74B lead (9) from switch terminal (10) on starter solenoid (6). Discard lock washer. 3. Remove nut (11), lock washer (12), circuit 7 lead (13), and ground lead (14) from starter ground terminal (15). Discard lock washer. 4. Remove three bolts (16), lock washers (17), starter (18), and gasket (19) from engine. Discard lock washers and gasket. Have helper assist. 0254 00-2
