TM 9-2350-247-20-2 ADJUST GENERATOR-REGULATOR — Continued 0249 00 C A U T I O N Battery can get overcharged and explode if the charging volts exceed 29. Adjust voltage regulator to 29 V. NOTE Do not force adjusting screw past stop. If regulator cannot be adjusted, replace bad regulator. Use insulated cross-tip screw driver #1 to adjust voltage. Adjust regulator output as follows: 90 and above: 27 V 50 thru 89 : 28 V 49 and below: 29 V On M548A1, idle carrier between 900–1100 rpm when adjusting regulator. On M548A3, idle carrier between 1000–1200 rpm when adjusting regulators. 7. With engine running, turn adjusting screw (1) in regulator (2) until proper reading is achieved. 8. Install receptacle cap (1) on auxiliary power (slave) receptacle (2). (Refer to Step 5). 9. Install access screw (1) on regulator or access cover if removed. FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1.
