TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE/ADJUST GENERATOR DRIVE BELT (M548A3) — Continued 0245 00 INSTALLATION NOTE Recheck drive belt tension after 20-50 miles (30-80 kilometers) of operation. If less than 12 lb (5.4 kg), reset tension to 12-14 lb (5.4-6.4 kg) with 0.19-0.25 inch (4.8-6.4 mm) deflection. 1. Position drive belt (4) over two pulleys (5). 2. Adjust drive belt tension as follows: a. Loosen two generator mounting screws (1) and rotate turnbuckle (3) until drive belt deflection is 0.19-0.25 in (4.8-6.4 mm). Use V-belt tensiometer with a force of 15-17 lb (6.8-7.7 kg) and straight edge spanning both pulleys. Tighten locking nut (2) on turnbuckle (3) and torque mounting screws (1) to 36-38 lb-ft (49-52 N•m). FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Install power plant rear access panel (see your -10). END OF TASK 0245 00-2
