TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE GENERATOR DRIVE BELTS ADJUSTING LINKAGE (M548A1) — Continued 0243 00 INSTALLATION NOTE Clean threads. Put antiseize compound sparingly on external threads at installation. 1. Install cap screw (1) through washer (2), adjusting rod (3), idler arm (4), two retainer rings (5), two bearings (6), spacer (7), and pulley (8). Install new lock nut (9) on cap screw (1). Torque lock nut to 50-55 lb-ft (68-75 N•m). 2. Install cap screw (10) through idler arm (4) and generator mounting bracket (11). Secure new lock nut (12) on cap screw (10). 3. Install new lock nut (13) and idler adjusting nut (14) on adjusting rod (3). 4. Install compression spring (15) on idler adjusting nut (14). 5. Install idler sleeve (16) on compression spring (15). 6. Install cap screw (17) through two spacers (18), idler sleeve (16), and generator mounting bracket (11). Install new lock nut (19) on cap screw (17). FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Install generator (WP 0242 00). 2. Connect battery negative lead (WP 0292 00). 3. Start engine (see your -10). 4. Check for proper operation of generator drive belts adjusting linkage. 5. Stop engine (see your -10). 6. Install power plant rear access covers/door (see your -10). END OF TASK 0243 00-3/4 blank
