INITIAL SETUP: M a i n t e n a n c e L e v e l Unit T o o l s a n d S p e c i a l T o o l s General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (WP 0541 00, Item 57) Torque Wrench (WP 0541 00, Item 67) M a t e r i a l s / P a r t s Antiseize compound (WP 0542 00, Item 6) Non-electrical wire (WP 0542 00, Item 27) Preformed packing (3) Suitable container P e r s o n n e l R e q u i r e d Unit Mechanic R e f e r e n c e s See your -10 E q u i p m e n t C o n d i t i o n Engine stopped/shutdown (see your -10) Power plant right rear access covers removed (see your -10) Carrier blocked (see your -10) REMOVAL 1. Place suitable container under drain cap (1). Remove cap, preformed packing (2) and lockwire (3), and drain oil. Discard wire and preformed packing. 2. Remove lockwire (4), four screws (5), washers (6), cover (7) and preformed packing (8) from fan gearbox (9). Discard lockwire and preformed packing. 3. Remove sight gauge (11) and preformed packing (12) from cover (7). Discard preformed packing. 4. Remove filler plug (10) from fan gearbox (9). INSTALLATION 1. Install new preformed packing (2) in fan gearbox (9). 2. Install drain cap (1) on fan gearbox (9). 3. Install new lockwire (3) through drain cap (1) and fan gearbox (9). Twist lockwire. 4. Install new preformed packing (12) in cover (7). 0239 00-1
