TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE COOLING FAN DRIVE HOUSING AND SHAFT (M548A3) — Continued 0238 00 CLEANING 1. Clean screws with cleaning compound and apply antiseize compound to screw threads. 2. Inspect fan housing and drive shaft for cracks, wear, and spline damage. Replace assembly that shows any of these defects. INSTALLATION 1. Install new preformed packing (1) in cooling fan (2). 2. Apply molybdenum grease to splines of drive shaft (3). Align drive shaft splines and install drive shaft assembly into cooling fan (2). 3. Secure housing (4) and drive shaft (3) to cooling fan (2) with three new tab washers (5) and screws (6). 4. Tighten screws (6) to 252-300 lb-in (28-34 N•m) torque. FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Install cooling fan pulley (WP 0236 00). 2. Install and adjust cooling fan drive belt (WP 0227 00). 3. Install power plant rear access panel (see your -10). 4. Install top access cover and grilles (see your -10). END OF TASK 0238 00-2
