TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE COOLANT TUBES, HOSES, AND FITTINGS (M548A3) — Continued 0220 00 CLEANING 1. Inspect tubes for crushed areas and damaged ends. Replace tubes that show either of these defects. 2. Inspect hoses for cracks and indication of collapse. Replace hoses that show either of these defects. 3. Inspect clamps for cracks and excessive wear. Replace clamps that show either of these defects. 4. Inspect fittings for burs and damaged threads. Remove burs. Replace fittings that have damaged threads. 5. Clean metal surfaces where hoses attach. Use cleaning compound. INSTALLATION 1. Apply sealing compound to both sides of four new gaskets and to threads of all elbows, bushing, and drain cock. 2. Install new gasket (1), adapter (2), two new tab washers (3), and screws (4) on radiator (5). 3. Slide hose (6) and two clamps (7) on elbow (8). 4. Install elbow (8) on adapter (2) and position hose (6), and two clamps (7) on tube and adapter. Tighten clamps. 5. Install drain cock (9) in elbow (8). Install hose (10) and clamp (11) on drain cock (9). Tighten clamp. 6. Slide hose (12) and two clamps (13) on tube (14). 7. Install tube (14) on elbow (8) and position hose (12) and two clamps (13) on both tubes. Tighten clamps. 0220 00-8
