TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FUEL FILTERS/ELEMENTS (M548A3) — Continued 0178 00 REMOVAL NOTE Removal of primary and secondary fuel filters requires removal of both filters at the same time. For element replacement o nl y, do REMOVAL Steps 1 - 4 and I NSTALLATION Steps 11 - 13. 1. Place suitable container under both filters, open drain valve (1) at bottom of primary filter shell (2) and drain filter. 2. Drain fuel from secondary filter through hose to suitable container. 3. Remove hose (3) from drain valve (4). Drain excess fuel from secondary filter through hose (3) into suitable container. 4. Remove cover retaining screws (5) and washers (6) securing primary filter shell (2) and secondary filter shell (7) to primary filter cover (8) and secondary filter cover (9). Remove shells, primary element (10), secondary element (11), gaskets (12), spring (13), spring retainers (14), seal (15), and seal retainer (16). Discard elements and gaskets. 0178 00-2 Change 1
