TM 9-2350-247-20-2 REPLACE PRIMARY FUEL FILTER (M548A1) — Continued 0176 00 INSTALLATION NOTE Before installing threaded hardware, clean male threads with cleaning compound. Put sealing compound on threads. Do not put sealing compound beyond small end of tapered threads. 1. Install filter plug (1) and plug (2) in filter cover (3). 2. Install elbow (4) in filter cover (3). 3. Close drain valve (5) at bottom of primary filter shell (6). NOTE If installing a new filter, you must fill filter shell with diesel fuel (WP 0179 00) to prevent air lock in fuel system. 4. Install filter cover (3) on mounting bracket (7) with two nuts (8), washers (9), and screws (10). 5. Connect primary filter outlet hose (11) to elbow (4). Connect inlet hose (12) to filter cover (3). FOLLOW-THROUGH STEPS 1. Connect battery negative lead (WP 0292 00). 2. Start engine (see your -10). 3. Run engine at 1,200 rpm and check for leaks. 4. Stop engine (see your -10). 5. Install left grille (WP 0390 00). END OF TASK 0176 00-3/4 blank
