They could freeze in place. 3. Shut off the engine until engine coolant temperature is at or below 185 F (85 C). START ENGINE IN EXTREME COLD 1. If your carrier has the engine coolant heater kit and you used t he kit (W P 004 0 0 0 o r W P 00 41 00 ) w hile th e c parked, use normal cold weather starting procedures (W P 00 13 00 o r WP 001 4 00). 2. Turn off the coolant heater and close the coolant heater sh uto ff v alves (WP 004 0 00 or W P 0 041 0 0) before startin g the engine. 3 . Com pl e te the D u rin g Pr e ven tiv e M ai ntenance Checks and Services ( WP 0057 00). 4. If your carrier doesn’t have the coolant heater kit, or the kit stopped running and your carrier is cold, get unit maintenance to help you get started. STOP ENGINE IN EXTREME COLD C A U T I O N Make sure the engine coolant temperature is 185 F (85 C) or lower before shutting down the engine. NOTE Stopping the engine in cold weather is the same as in any other weather co nd it io ns (WP 0023 00 or W P 002 4 00). If your compartment heater has been running, wait for the heater to complete its cool down cycle and stop itself after you turn it off. The light will go out when the heater blower stops. 1 .
