Install four bolts (4), two bolts (5), six Iockwashers (6), two bolts (7), and two Iockwashers (8) to lower front cover (9). Torque bolts (7) to 25-30 Ib-ft (34-41 N-m) and bolts (4 and 5) to 80-90 Ib-ft (108-122 N-m), Install spacer ring (10) onto crankshaft. Install end cap (3), flat washer (2), and bolt (1) to front of crankshaft. Tighten crankshaft end bolt (1) as follows: NOTE Secure gear train in place to prevent crankshaft from turning when loosening crankshaft end bolt. (a) (b) (c) (d) Torque bolt to 180 Ib-ft (244 N-m). Strike end of bolt a sharp blow three times with a 3 pound soft head hammer. Torque bolt to 300 Ib-ft (407 N-m) and strike bolt again three times. Torque bolt to 290-310 Ib-ft (393-421 N-m).
