TM 9-2815-202-34 4-3. EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT This task covers: a. Removal b. Installation INITIAL SETUP MODELS MANDATORY REPLACEMENT PARTS 7083-7395 4 Gaskets (App F,ltem 41) TOOLS AND SPECIAL TOOLS EQUIPMENTCONDITION General mechanics tool kit (App B, Item 96) Para Description Torque wrench (App B, Item 101) 4-2 Turbocharger removed a. Removal (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) Loosen five nuts(1 ) securing exhaust manifold (2) to cylinder head. SIide exhaust manifold (2) up and off cylinder head. Remove five nuts (1), three center retainers (3), and two end retainers (4). Remove two exhaust manifold gaskets (5). Discard gaskets. Repeat steps 1 thru 4 above for opposite side exhaust manifold. b. Installation NOTE When installing metal clad exhaust manifold gaskets, insure crimped side of gasket is facing cylinder head. (1) Position two gaskets (5) over exhaust manifold studs (6). NOTE Position the bevel washers so outer diameter will rest on manifold and crown at center is next to nut. (2) Install three center retainers (3), two end retainers (4), and five nuts (1). 4-6
