TM 9-2350-358-BD 7-15. RELAY, HYDRAULIC PUMP MOTOR General Information: Hydraulic pump maintains a predetermined hydraulic pressure. If the hydraulic pump falls, the hydraulic pressure will fall, rendering all hydraulic equipment unusable. Limitations: When the hydraulic relay is bypassed, the hydraulic fluid level detector and hydraulic motor thermal switch are no longer effective. Personnel/Time Required: 1 soldier 0.5 hour Materials/Tools: Tape, insulation electrical (item 63, Appendix C) References: TM 9-2350-314-20-2-1 CAUTION With hydraulic relay bypassed low hydraulic fluid levels and overheating of hydraulic pump will not turn hydraulic motor off. Hydraulic fluid level must be frequently monitored to insure adequate hydraulic fluid level in the hydraulic reservoir, and temperature of hydraulic pump must be periodically monitored for overheating. Failure to heed this caution may cause damage to, or destruction of the hydraulic pump motor. Procedural Steps: 1. Gain access to the hydraulic relay. 7-18
