Assembly INITIAL SETUP Tools Preformed packings (2) (item 52, Appx E) Artillery and turret mechanic’s tool kit Preformed packings (2) (item 64, Appx E) (SC 5180-95-CL-A12) Retaining ring (item 139, Appx E) Materials/Parts Spring pins (2) (item 11, Appx E) Hydraulic fluid (item 22, Appx B) LockWashers (4) (item 76, Appx E) Equipment Condition LockWashers (4) (item 81, Appx E) Actuating valve assembly removed Preformed packings (2) (item 50, Appx E) (TM 9-2350-311-20-2) a. Disassembly 1 Remove two machine plugs (1) and two preformed packings (2). Discard preformed packings. Helical compression springs beneath access cover are under high preload. Make provision to re- strain access cover during disassembly. 2 Remove four cap screws (3), four Iockwashers (4), and access cover (5). Discard lockwashers. 3 Remove two spring pins (6) and manual control lever (7). Discard spring pins. 4 Remove four cap screws (8), four Iockwashers (9), and access cover (10). Discard Iockwashers. 5 Withdraw valve spool (11) from body (12). 6 Remove two preformed packings (13) from valve spool (11) and discard. 7 Remove retaining ring (14) and helical compression spring (15) from valve spool (11). Discard retaining ring. 8 Remove two plugs (16) and two preformed packings (17). Discard preformed packings. 9 Remove sleeve (18). 7-28
