TM 9-2350-311-34-2 6-6 ACCUMULATOR ASSEMBLY (MANUAL PUMP) This task covers: a. Disassembly b. Inspection c. Assembly INITIAL SETUP Tools Artillery and turret mechanic’ s tool kit Hydraulic fluid (item 22, Appx B) Retaining rings (6) (item 156, Appx E) (SC 5180-95-CL-A12) Artillery field maintenance tool kit (SC 4933-95-CL-A06) Materials/Parts Accumulator parts kit (item 148, Appx E) Equipment Condition Accumulator assembly (manual pump) removed (TM 9-2350-311-20-2) a. Disassembly Manual pump accumulator assembly contains dry nitrogen at a pressure of 75-90 psi (517-620 kPa). Do not disassemble until all pressure is relieved to avoid injury from trapped high pressure. 1 Remove accumulator cap (1). 2 If necessary for replacement, remove screw (1.1) and instruction plate (1.2) from accumulator cap (1). 3 Unscrew and remove air valve cap (2). 4 Depress valve core (3) and relieve all nitrogen pressure in accumulator assembly (4). 5 Unscrew and remove valve core (3) from valve body (5). 6 Unscrew and remove valve body (5). 7 Remove and discard preformed packing (6) 8 Remove two retaining rings (7) from outside of cylinder (8) at each end and discard. 9 Remove linear cap (9), cylinder tube nipple (10), and hydraulic piston (11) from cylinder (8). 10 Remove six packing retainers (12) and four preformed packings (13) from hydraulic piston (11) and discard. 6-26 Change 2
