Operation. – Continued WARNING Be sure hands, arms, and loose clothing are clear of cannon tube and breech prior to removing the wooden block to prevent injury to personnel. 8 If using electric hydraulic pump (22), place manual valve (27) in upright position. Using the electric hydraulic pump, begin pumping to move the cannon tube off of the wooden block. Remove wooden block. 9 If using electric hydraulic pump (22), turn manual valve (27). Release hydraulic pressure at the electric hy- draulic pump allowing cannon tube (2) to return to battery. 10 Repeat steps 3, 4, 5, and 9. 11 Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5. WARNING The cannon tube must be blocked while lubricating to prevent cannon tube from returning to battery resulting in injury to personnel. 12 Block cannon (2) while out of battery with a 4”x4”x12” wooden block (29). Hold wooden block in position and slowly release pump pressure until wooden block stops cannon tube movement. Coat exposed buffer piston rod (28) surface lightly with hydraulic fluid (item 21, Appx D).
