TM 9–2350–311–20–2 16–2 PANORAMIC TELESCOPE BALLISTIC COVER This task covers: a. Removal b. Installation INITIAL SETUP Tools Artillery and turret mechanic’s tool kit (SC 5180–95–CL–A12) Shackles (item 11, Appx H) Torque wrench (item 18, Appx H) Materials/Parts Gasket (item 142, Appx G) Lockwashers (10) (item 83, Appx G) Sealing compound, No. 2 (item 27, Appx D) Webbing strap (item 35, Appx D) Rag (item 25, Appx D) a. Removal CAUTION Cover glass prior to removal of panaramic telescope ballistic cover. Failure to protect glass could result in damage to glass surface. NOTE Use longitudinal locking knob to move mount for access to front bolts on panoramic telescope ballis- tic cover. 1 Attach webbing strap (1) to lugs (2) on panoramic telescope ballistic cover (3) with shackles (4), bolts (5), and hex nuts (6). 2 From inside cab, remove eight long cap screws (7), two short cap screws (8), ten lockwashers (9), and ten flat washers (10). Discard lockwashers. 3 Lift panoramic telescope ballistic cover (3) away from roof of cab. 4 Remove and discard gasket (11). b. Installation 1 Make sure that all remnants of old gasket (11) have been removed from cab roof. Apply sealing compound, to new gasket and install on cab roof, alining holes. 2 From inside cab, insert two flat washers (10), two new lockwashers (9), and two long cap screws (7) to serve as locators. Hold in position until step 3 is completed. 3 Lower panoramic telescope ballistic cover (3) onto gasket (11), alining holes in lower ring (12) with two long cap screws (7). Install remaining six flat washers (10), six new lockwashers (9), and six long cap screws (7). Install two flat washers (10), two new lockwashers (9), and two short cap screws (8) in the two front holes in the roof. Torque all bolts to 72–88 ft-lb. (98–119 N . m). 4 Check rotation of panoramic telescope ballistic cover (3). 5 Remove and secure all lifting gear.
