Assembly INITIAL SETUP Applicable Configuration M109A2/M109A3/M109A4 howitzers Tools Artillery and turret mechanic’s tool kit (SC 5180–95–CL–A12) Equipment Condition Firing mechanism assembly removed (TM 9–2350–311–10) a. Disassembly 1 Place firing mechanism (1) on solid surface. 2 Depress follower (2) until grooved pin (3) can be removed from manual control lever (4) and rod end clevis (5). 3 Separate follower (2) and case (6) from sear group (7). 4 Remove two springs (8). 5 Remove grooved pin (9) from rod end clevis (5) and separate firing hammer (10), hammer guide cup (11), firing spring (12), and sear (13). b.
