Assembly INITIAL SETUP Tools Artillery and turret mechanic’s tool kit (SC 5180–95–CL–A12) Equipment Condition Muzzle brake removed (TM 9–2350–311–10) Thrust collar removed (TM 9–2350–311–10) Bore evacuator removed (TM 9–2350–311–10) References TM 9–2350–311–10 a. Disassembly NOTE Setscrews for both thrust collars are staked in three places on the side with spring and detent ball only. 1 Remove setscrew (1), spring (2), and bearing ball (3) from thrust collar (4). 2 Remove setscrew (5), spring (6), and bearing ball (7) from bore evacuator (8). 3 Remove setscrew (9), spring (10), and detent ball (11) from bore evacuator assembly thrust collar (12). b. Inspection 1 Inspect bore evacuator (8) for cracks. Replace if cracked. 2 Inspect muzzle brake (13) for cracks. Replace if cracks exceed 1 inch (2.54 cm). c. Assembly 1 Install detent ball (11), spring (10), and setscrew (9) in bore evacuator assembly thrust collar (12). Stake set- screw in three places. 2 Install bearing ball (7), spring (6), and setscrew (5) in bore evacuator (8).
