TM 9-2350-311-20-1 ELECTRICAL HAZARD Be certain MASTER switch is off when working on hull electrical system to prevent injury due to electrical shock (FM 21-1 1). BURN HAZARD Batteries contain sulfuric acid that can cause severe bums. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing, and remove all metal or jewelry. If battery electrolyte is spilled, stop its burning effects immediately (FM 21-11). WARNING FLAMMABLE Battery gases can explode. Do not smoke, have an open flame, or create sparks around a battery, especially if the caps are off. Severe injury may result if you fail to heed this warning. Seek medical aid immediately should explosion occur (FM 21-1 1). WARNING NOISE HAZARD Excessive noise levels are present any time the equipment is operating. Wear hearing protection while operating or working around equipment while it is running. Failure to do so could result in damage to your hearing. Seek medical aid should you suspect a hearing problem (FM 21-1 1). HAZARDOUS WASTE When servicing this vehicle, performing maintenance, or disposing of materials such as engine coolant, transmission fluid, lubricants, battery acids or batteries, and CARC paint, consult your unit/local regulatory guidance. ROTATION HAZARD Protective fan screens must be installed prior to performing maintenance in the engine compartment when the engine is running or in ground hop mode.
