Materials/Parts Coolant system drained (TM 9-2350-311-10) Adhesive (item 1, Appx D) Powerplant removed (para 4-5) Lockwasher (item 88, Appx G) a. Removal Ensure engine and coolant system are cool enough to permit safe handling in order to prevent bums. 1 Loosen hose clamp (1) on main inlet hose (2). 2 Loosen hose clamp (3) and remove surge tank tube-to-engine coolant main tube inlet hose (4). 3 Loosen two clamps (5) on lower end of bypass thermostat lower housing-to-engine coolant main tube inlet hose (6). 4 Loosen clamp (7) at radiator lower tube assembly (8). 5 Remove screw (9), Iockwasher (10), nut (11), and clamp (12). Discard Iockwasher. 6 Remove main coolant tube (13), pulling from connections at clamps (1, 5, 7, and 12). b. Installation Ensure engine and coolant system are cool enough to permit safe handling in order to prevent bums. Adhesives are toxic and flammable. Apply adhesives only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes, and don’t breath vapors. Do not use near heat, sparks, or open flame. Read and follow all warnings and instructions on labels of adhesives. If contact with skin or eyes is made, wash area with water and seek medical aid immediately. 7-6 INITIAL SETUP Tools References WARNING WARNING
