After firing, check muzzle brake (1) for cracks. Any cracks in muzzle brake (1) are over 1 inch (2.54 cm) long. b. Ensure that muzzle brake key (2) is partly cov- ered by thrust collar (3). Muzzle brake key (2) is damaged or missing. c. Check setscrews (4 and 5) for tightness. Set- screw (4) is staked. Staked set- screw(s), ball, or spring is missing. d.
