TM 9-2350-274-BD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SECTION III. Motors, Starters, Alternators 6-7. General. Repair on automotive motors should be limited to relays, solenoids and brushes. Damage to casings and windings cannot be expediently repaired. 6-8. BLOWER MOTOR, AIR CLEANER FAILURE General Information The air cleaner blower motors get electrical power through a relay. When the relay is defective it may be by-passed to regain the use of the blower motors. The charging system is also controlled through the same relay. When the engine is not running the jumper wire must be removed to prevent the electrical system from being discharged. Limitations: ● None Personnel/Time Required: ● 1 soldier ● 15 to 30 minutes Materials/Tools: ● Insulated wire ● Multimeter lead ● Needle-nose pliers ● Tape Procedural Steps: 1. Turn off MASTER switch. 2. Locate air cleaner blower relay behind portable operators panel in driver’s compartment. 6-7
