NOTE If old elevating gear is being installed, proceed with step 23. If new elevat- ing gear is being installed, go to step 25. 23 Screw elevating gear (40) into elbow tele- scope (41) and aline holes for headless straight pin (42). 24 Install pin (42). Drive in pin until outer surface is flush with elbow telescope sur- face. Go to step 28. 25 Screw elevating gear (40) tightly into elbow telescope (41). 26 Using pin hole in elbow telescope as a guide, drill and ream hole for 3/32 in. di- ameter pin. 27 Install pin (42). Drive in pin until outer surface is flush with elbow telescope sur- face. 28 Install elevation indicator (43) on shoulder of elbow telescope (41). Face scale grad- uations to outside and aline scribe marks. 29 Install but do not tighten three setscrews (44). Setscrews will be tightened during collimation adjustment. Refer to page 4-30. 4-11
