Remove taper pin (31). CIRCLE—MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS (cont). lever (30) is Remove lock-release lever (30). Unscrew and remove externally threaded ring (32), and remove preformed packing (33) and shaft (34). Remove two setscrews (35), round plain nut (36), and washer (37). Remove housing assembly (38) from hous- ing (39). Remove worm gear (40) from housing (39). Remove scale dial (41) with attached parts from housing (39). Remove setscrew (42), three screws (43). retainer (44) and scale dial (41) from re- tainer (45). CLEANING Do not dip the aiming circle body CAUTION assembly components in cleaning compound. 1 Clean all machined metal parts with cleaning compound (item 5, appx D). 2 Clean all optical surfaces with denatured alcohol (item 2, appx D) or optical cleaning compound (item 4, appx D). 4-8
